The purpose of the work is to present the composition of the personal book collection of Vikenty Danylovych Gerberskyi, a doctor, professor and teacher of Vilnius University (1784/85–1826), which is kept in the funds of the department of library collections and historical collections of the Institute of Bibliography of the V. I. Vernadskyi National Library of Ukraine. The methodological basis of the research is the use of source studies, historical, bibliographic methods, as well as the general scientific method of analysis and synthesis. Their complex use made it possible to determine the structure and composition of the personal library, the scientific and professional direction of the founder's activities. The scientific novelty consists in the systematization of the printed materials of the fund, the description and analysis of the thematic sections of the collection, in the context of the study of the life path, the diversity of scientific interests and passions of the professor, his pedagogical activity and contribution to medicine. Conclusions. In the process of researching archival, primarily foreign publications, the main stages of life, professional and pedagogical activities of Vikenty Danylovych Gerberskyi were described. The personal collection of Professor Vikenty Danylovych Herberski was distinguished thanks to a font bookplate in the form of an oval seal with the inscription: «Z daru Herberskiego professor» within the collection of the Vilnius Medical and Surgical Academy and the collection of the University of St. Volodymyr. The professor's book collection has 286 items, its composition reflects the professional interests of the owner. As a practicing ophthalmic surgeon, Herbersky collected the works of famous European surgeons and doctors of eye diseases. Most of the books were acquired by Gerbersky during his stay abroad in 1817–1823, including theses, monographs, and professional periodicals. In Gerbersky's personal library, there is practically no non-professional literature. This book collection is a valuable collection of European medical publications of the 17th-19th centuries, reflecting the evolution of medical knowledge, and also a unique historical and cultural monument of its time.
