Summary

TThe article analyzes the changes that have occurred in the functioning conditions of the Ukrainian village and their impact on the living environment of rural people, which was formed under the influence of the factors of land, geography, demography, employment, etc. After 1991, destructive processes in the socio-economic sphere developed in the Ukrainian village. The village rapidly lost its ability to develop as a self-sufficient and social complex, where the living environment and the production-economic system were combined. Most of the state programs related to the development of rural areas were mostly declarative in nature, or were not provided with the necessary financial resources, which made their implementation difficult, and in some cases completely impossible. Gaps in state policy and subjective miscalculations and miscalculations that took place at various stages of transformative transformations led to a significant deterioration of welfare indicators in the countryside. At the same time, the village acquired a new feature - multifunctionality. This process developed too slowly. The destruction of the traditional way of rural life was characteristic of most Ukrainian villages. Rural residents could not actually claim the same level of medical care as urban residents. The situation with trade services, etc., remained difficult.

The key elements of the state policy of village development, revival, socio-economic and spiritual potential have been studied and analyzed, changes in the social function of the village have been clarified, and transformations in social, nature protection, health and recreation functions have been shown. The foreign and domestic experience of reforming and modernizing the structure of villages is summarized, the influence of globalization and integration processes on the village is clarified, the course of urbanization and its reflection on the way of life of rural people are shown. The results of disparities in the development of cities and villages of Ukraine have been established. The thesis about the constant growth of the role of cities in the life of the rural population is confirmed, the role of migration processes is shown. Processes of ruralization, their manifestations and scales are considered.
