The publication examines the main factors that preceded the emergence of the national agricultural bibliography and some features of the formation of agricultural bibliography on the territory of Ukraine. Attention is focused on the influence of objective factors that witnessed the emergence of agricultural bibliography in the 1920s. Thanks to the application of a methodological toolkit based on the principles of historicism, objectivity, personalization, multifactoriality and interdependence of the historical and logical connection, the scientific and organizational contribution of Professor K. V. Dubnyak. The general trend of the genesis of the national agricultural bibliography, common to many areas of domestic science, education and technology, is substantiated. It is proven that the development of the domestic agricultural bibliography was activated by historical circumstances, among which the following: revitalization of agriculture, increase in agricultural literature publications, and increase in the number of readers. In the difficult and contradictory conditions of the first decades of the last century, enthusiasts-practitioners, members of societies, scientists and teachers were able to lay the basic conditions for the emergence and formation of a national agricultural bibliography.
