03 PRESERVATION OF BIODIVERSITY: HISTORICISM AND PROSPECTS full article

Summary

In the article, through the prism of the analysis of changes in the goals and objectives set by Ukrainian scientists during the 2000s – 2010s when studying the problem of biodiversity conservation, a connection is established between the results of such studies and the scientists' awareness of the genesis of this process in the projection on future. For this purpose, the following are used: problem-chronological, diachronic and synchronic methods, systemic and multifactorial analysis of the raised issue. Taking into account the specifics of agricultural production, biodiversity in it is currently considered by Ukrainian scientists as a threefold factor, which combines: an approach to overcoming the negative consequences of the ecological situation; ways of solving the challenges of the food problem; variants of contours of an acceptable future in the field of agricultural use of natural resources. Establishing such an approach made it possible to formulate the problem of agrobiodiversity preservation at the theoretical level from the standpoint of a new science – diversicology. Two main stages can be distinguished in its development, which are related to the contribution of domestic researchers. The first stage is «establishment», which is characterized by: awareness of the prospects for the use, preservation and reproduction of agrobiodiversity; development of methodological tools for its assessment (criteria, indicators, indices, examples, etc.), management of specific situations, coordination with socio-economic projects; instrumental detection of the connection between the state of agrobiodiversity and the features of the formation of the agrosphere. The second stage is «development», which includes: understanding the potential of the agricultural sector in the «full world»; recognition of the crucial role of biodiversity in the structure of basic relations; establishing a connection between ecological and economic changes and socio-cultural priorities. The state of modern domestic agricultural science orients researchers and practitioners to strategies of relentless development. Such strategies make it possible to significantly slow down the movement towards the «red lines» of the ecological imperative, but not to stop it. The concept of biodiversity reveals the meaning of noospheric-agrarian perspectives, that is, it allows us to consider them as a complex phenomenon, which includes: tireless trends in the development of the agrosphere; the potential of agrarian thinking; transformation of algorithms of activity into a paradigm of agrarian affairs, the qualitative result of the combination of which is the formation of a culture of resonant agriculture.
