The article examines the transformations in the development of science and technology in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, when the era of industrialization and the introduction of scientific and technological innovations radically changed the industrial structure of the Russian Empire, particularly of Naddniprianshchyna Ukraine. This period was the impetus for the creation of scientific and technical associations, one of which was the South Russian Society of Technologists, founded in 1895 in Kharkiv by the faculty and graduates of the Kharkiv Practical Technological Institute. The society's main goal was to promote the development of technical sciences and industry, as well as to support the graduates of their Alma Mater in their professional development.

The society sought to address several key issues, including the lack of an effective platform for knowledge exchange between scientists and engineers, which limited access to the latest developments in technical fields and complicated the integration of technologies into production processes. There was also a need to establish a mutual assistance system and employ engineers and technologists who had just graduated. The lack of such a system inhibited the development of industrial enterprises.

The society's activities, its role in the formation of the scientific and technical community, and support for young professionals, and focuses on the publishing activities of the society analyzed. A significant achievement was the foundation of the journal “Bulletin of the South Russian Society of Technologists”, which became a platform for the dissemination of scientific and technical knowledge, contributed to raising the level of technical education, and provided access to professional information for a wide range of specialists, which ultimately had a positive impact on the development of industry and science in the region.

The journal's content, its role in the dissemination and support of professional exchange between engineers and scientists, and in promoting the employment of specialists were analyzed. The article also examines how the magazine contributed to the development of technical education and the integration of the latest advances in production.
