The article highlights the circumstances and course of the dramatic events of political and administrative pressure and the crushing defeat by the Soviet party bodies of scientific centers studying topical problems of genetics in scientific research and higher educational institutions of the Dnieper region in 1947-1949, which were determined by the complex processes of post-war economic recovery of the agricultural sector of the country and the Dnipropetrovsk region, which were accompanied by the strict implementation by the leading party bodies of the Soviet government of the externalist model of organizing the practical activities of scientific centers in the research field of contemporary science. It has been established that one of the main objects of political and administrative pressure from the authorities in the Dnieper region was the Dnipropetrovsk Agricultural Institute, the Ukrainian Institute of Grain Economy, whose scientific and pedagogical workers carried out scientific and teaching activities in the context of the global achievements of that time in genetics, breeding, and selection. Based on a detailed analysis of the source database, the process of administrative persecution and harassment of genetic scientists has been reconstructed in detail, and the main stages of the deployment of the ideological and socio-political campaign of party authorities directed against specialists in breeding and selection, which took place in 1947-1949, have been studied in detail. It has been proven that the process of dismantling scientific centers for genetics research by party authorities began in 1947, which was a natural reaction of the country's political leadership to the difficulties of the post-war reconstruction of the agricultural industry. During the fall of 1948, a series of open meetings were held, as a result of which large-scale personnel rotations were carried out, accompanied by the dismissal of scientists, transfer to farm work, etc.
