Summary

The article examines a small, but valuable collection of various fabrics (towels, curtains) from the stock collection of the National Historical and Ethnographic Reserve «Pereyaslav» (hereinafter – NHER «Pereyaslav»), presenting Western Podillia. Museum objects by execution technique: embroidered and date from the first half of the 20th century.

The aim is to analyze the collection of fabrics, the compositional plots of which contain images of the state symbols of Ukraine in the collection of the National Historical and Ethnographic Reserve «Pereyaslav»: the flag, coat of arms, and folk-poetic symbols of the Ukrainian people.

The main part of such products was purchased in Ternopil Region. It was determined that according to the manufacturing technology, decorative and applied art items embroidered with the «cross» technique are presented. In general, ornamentation is characterized by the use of geometric, plant motifs and calligraphic elements in the decoration of products. It has been studied that they can be both close to the original images and stylized. At the same time, it was found that the embroidered towels of Western Podillia have a slightly larger color range in comparison with other regions. This significantly enriches his visual perception.
