In the article, for the first time, the sources of book printing and the repertoire of Ukrainian-language agrarian books "Collection of scientific publications of 1901-1917 from the funds of the National Scientific Agricultural Library of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine", which received the status of national property of the state, were investigated. The study and preservation of rarities and rare collections in the Ukrainian language in the conditions of Russian aggression acquire special importance for the revival of historical justice.

With the help of historical, biographical and source analysis methods, the main publishing centers of Ukrainian-language popular scientific agricultural literature were revealed under the conditions of the ban on Ukrainian book printing during the imperial era.

The role of the "Charitable Society for the Publishing of General Useful and Cheap Books", the "Ukrainian Agronomist" Society, the Regional Economic Society "Silsky Gospod", the "Ukrainian Agronomic Circle at the Moscow Agricultural Institute", the Lubensk Society of Agriculture, the Poltava Provincial Zemstvo in the distribution of scientific books in their native language has been studied and in the formation of Ukrainian scientific terminology. New information about the mentioned societies was found and some biographical data of the authors of the publications were clarified.
