The purpose of the article is to highlight the processes of digital transformation, through which the processes of functioning of national archival funds are influenced, as well as the role of library institutions in preserving national memory, which became especially relevant during the Russian-Ukrainian war.

The historical aspect of the problem of the formation of the archival industry in Ukraine under the leadership of the head of the first state body for managing the archival industry, historian O. S. Hrushevsky, who was responsible for the return of historical documents to Ukraine, is briefly considered. The period of transition to the processes of digital transformation of archival institutions of Ukraine, which took place unevenly-from inactive in the 2000s to a large-scale jerk in 2020, was traced. A number of regulatory and legal documents aimed at the implementation of information technologies in the archival industry are highlighted.

Using the example of the National Scientific Agricultural Library of the NAAS, a list of digitization laboratory equipment necessary for full-fledged work is provided; the procedure for creating an electronic fund is specified, which is regulated by specially developed documentation.

The aspect of developing and adhering to new metadata standards, file formats and electronic document management systems common to all archives of Ukraine is highlighted. Attention is paid to the issues of preserving and protecting electronic documents, in particular, the implementation of innovative blockchain technology.

A number of problems related to the digital transformation of archival documents are considered, as well as the positive impact on the functioning of archival and library institutions, especially during the Russian-Ukrainian war.
