Article Retraction Procedure
|
|
The withdrawal of an article from publication (retraction) is a mechanism for correcting published information and informing readers that a publication contains flaws or errors.
Grounds for retracting an article may include:
- detection of improper borrowings (plagiarism) in the publication;
- duplication of the article across multiple publications;
- identification of falsification or fabrication in the work (e.g., manipulation of experimental data);
- identification of serious errors in the work (e.g., incorrect interpretation of results) that call into question its scientific value;
- undisclosed conflicts of interest (or other violations of publication ethics);
- republication of the article without the consent of the author(s)/co-authors, etc.
If the authors consider it necessary to retract an article, they must contact the editorial board with a reasoned request. If the editorial board agrees, it independently carries out the retraction of the text.
If the editorial board decides to retract an article based on its own assessment or on information received, it informs the authors of this decision. The author(s) are notified of the reasons for the retraction.
After the decision to retract is made, the article remains on the journal’s website within the corresponding issue; however, the electronic version of the text is marked «RETRACTED” along with the date of retraction. The same notice is also indicated in the table of contents of the respective issue.
